Any difference between Win 10 Desktop & Browser Smart Screen?

Is there any protection difference between Win 10 Desktop & Browser Smart Screen?
Or the protection is same i.e if a particular threat is detected by BSS...it will be detected by DSS too... And if a particular threat is missed by BSS...it will be missed by DSS too?

Smart Screen from browser of IE and Edge acts also same to Desktop version with its current level of protection.

So if it missed then also acts the same.
If its rated unknown then the desktop will tell you the same.
If cannot check the ratings, then also same thing
