Hello everyone

I wonder whether someone could help, please

I previously tried Avira’s antivirus. Avira was four-on-the-floor but now, just out of curiosity, I’m trying Kaspersky’s antivirus.

I see a message, from Kaspersky’s antivirus, telling me I should remove
  • Avira Launcher, generic
  • Avira Security
I’ve done all sorts of searches, on my PC, but only in the Registry Editor, precisely in “AppBadgeUpdated”, I find an entry.

Its name includes:: Avira Security Spotlight UI Application exe

My question is:: is it safe, for my PC, if I delete such registry entry??

In advance, thank you very much for your help[

Christian

You could use:
  1. Antivirus Removal Tool to search for leftovers
  2. Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to clean registered security programs
  3. Registrar Registry Manager to clean the registry from Avira and AntiVir
  4. Driver Store Explorer [RAPR] for leftover drivers

Drivers are another issue and frequently AVs leave drivers behind.

I manually inspect the following locations:
C:/Program Files
C:/Program Files (x86)
C:/Program Files/Common Files
C:/Users/<user name>/AppData including Local and Roaming
C:/Windows/System32 for drivers. To inspect for drivers details in explorer should be shown so the driver name can be seen.
Manual search in registry for the AV name and Vendor name (example: CheckPoint & ZoneAlarm).

This is in case no removal tool is being supplied.
