Battle Avira Free vs UnThreat Free

Looking for which would be better in terms of general protection? I've always been a fan of Avira Free, but I also liked the tech behind the Vipre engine, and used it when they had a beta/free product. Also, which has least impact for general day to day internet browsing.

I've tried giving this user full blown suites (CIS and such), but they seem to notice even the smallest change in browsing speeds/site rendering/downloads. And end up ripping the crap off.

unthreat is not a tested product. so avira will beat unthreat.
