The fact that a zombie mode is set to be added to the recently launched Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare after launch has been public knowledge for a while, but the developers working on the first-person shooter have not offered a lot of details about it directly.

Now, the team at Sledgeahammer Games and publisher Activision are announcing in an official blog that they are planning to introduce the Exo Zombies mode alongside the downloadable content pack called Havok, which is supposed to be launched in early 2015.

Once again, the studio is not explaining exactly how the new experience will work or how it will be mixed with the other core modes of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

The attached video offers a taste of what the experience has to offer and Sledgehammer says the mix of exo-skeleton suits and zombie hordes will create some interesting results.

The official announcement explains that “As things were wrapping up around launch, we started playing around with the idea of what happens when zombies were thrown into the mix with exoskeleton gameplay. What we came up with is Exo Zombies — an entirely new breed of zombies and an entirely new co-op experience that is truly unique to Advanced Warfare.”

More details on Exo Zombies are set to be offered in the coming weeks.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will get a constant stream of new content
Activision has already announced that its most recent first-person shooter is the biggest entertainment launch of the year, and at the moment the focus is on making sure that it remains relevant in the long term and is not overshadowed by other coming releases, like Battlefield Hardline.

This means that gamers will get a number of DLC packs which will introduce new maps and new weapons for gamers to use, increasing the number of tactics that they can employ in multiplayer.

Apparently, each pack will also include an episode of the new zombie mode, which will also have a narrative element.

All those who have picked up the Season Pass or have pre-ordered Havok, the first DLC pack, will be able to get access to the AE4 energy rifle on December 9.

The new content for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be first offered on the Xbox One and the 360 and will only then be delivered on the PC, the PlayStation 4, and the PS3.
