Hi. I definitely have a problem ... but have no idea what to do. The worst symptom is a blinking cursor which has made it impossible to copy/paste and a blinking on/off of whatever application I'm using.
I'm looking forward to finding out what this problem is.
Thank you in advance for your expertise!!
WYRA (ie, Kim)

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

PC seems clean. I think there is a problem with your graphic drivers.

  • Press the
    WindowsKey.png
+ R on your keyboard at the same time. Type dxdiag and click OK.
  • Click on Display tab
  • Make a screenshot of this window if you can.

I clicked on the legacy link and attempted to download the Catalyst software 15.7.1

When the download was complete I received the message:

"The signature amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit(1).exe is corrupt or invalid."

Hmmmmm ... ????

Yes, I clicked the download button for Catalyst software Suite 15.7.1

I just went back and downloaded it again. I watched the download progress to 100%. It then said it was going to run a security scan. That's when the message appeared: "The signature amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit(1).exe is corrupt or invalid."

Thanks for hanging in there with me.

What do you think of my doing a system restore to before my computer seemed to be "over taken" and when my Windows 8.1 was automatically upgraded to Windows 10 (without my choosing).

Thanks for your suggestion, melen1717. I tried to loosen ANY stuck key and nothing worked. Something is causing my cursor to blink ON/OFF and my APP icon on my task bar blinks ON/OFF. I have found that to "copy" or highlight text, if I hold own the SHIFT key I can freeze the cursor ON.

If you're able to restore your computer to previous Operating System that would be nice. There is a possibility that Windows 10 isn't fully supported by your hardware.

Hooray!!!! I found the answer to my horrendously annoying and debilitating cursor blinking problem. When my system upgraded to Windows 10 there was an problem with the "SimplePass" program (HP and Microsoft incompatibility). All I had to do was:

1. Press "Windows" button on keyboard.

2. In search bar type "simplepass".

3. Select "HP SimplePass".

4. After program has loaded, enter password or swipe finger to log in.

5. Click on Personal Settings in top right of window (looks like a gear or cog).

*****6. Un-check LaunchSite.******

7. Click OK.

PROBLEM FIXED!!!!!!!!!!
