I actually have Kaspersky Internet Security as my security suite, which has an integrated firewall.
Should i disable the antivirus firewall and enable Comodo Firewall? (it's not Comodo IS, just free firewall).
Or should i use KIS firewall alone?
Hello Morvotron,
Combining Kaspersky and Comodo will likely consume a lot of resources; I would pick one or the other.
If you have 64 bit system, then Comodo Internet Security has an edge over Kaspersky. If you have 32 bit system, then both are equivalent.
To fully protect a 64 bit system using Kaspersky one should enable Trusted Application Mode (TAM).
Whether one uses Comodo or Kaspersky, it is a good idea to create a default-deny protection using appropriate settings.
@cruelsister has created a video on how to accomplish this for Comodo. You can find that video here on MT.
Comodo, if anything, is actively tested for bugs and vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, the Comodo forum has essentially become a venue only to report bugs and other problems discovered primarily during beta testing... in other words, it really is not a support forum.
I have a quick-guide on how to enable maximum settings for Kaspersky. It can be found in the MT Kaspersky subforum.
Both Comodo and Kaspersky use HIPS. They are slightly different in how the HIPS module works.
You can achieve a very high level of security with either Comodo or Kaspersky.
