As of about 2 yrs ago, Symentec gave you a tracking number with your submissions. In this case, the item was whitelisted in about 3 hours. Despite the automation, you can tell people are looking at these closely and "triaging" the submissions. In this case, it was a compoenent of the Edge DEV build--something that maybe got priority over more esoteric submissions.

Has this turn-around time improved any since 2019? Three hours for a mainstream browser component seems a little high. If AVAST can whitelist in 15 min, that would be an asset for sure.
Symantec whitelists FP samples manually and the current turnaround time is approximately 24 hours. On weekends and holidays, they usually do not process subissions. Avast also whitelists FP samples manually so it is not possible for it to whitelist in 15 min.The turnaround time is sightly longer than Symantec, IMO.

what was missing the avira was just a good behavior blocker, the rest is of a very high level, it is regrettable to have joined norton, who does not do well in the tests, it would have been more worthy if avira had joined bitdefender or kaspersky, it would be one excellent antivirus from that junction.

I heard that Avira is planning to add a behavior blocker in the future version. Not sure if the technology is from Norton or Avira itself.

Actually, Norton needs a good cloud-based detection system that Avira (APC) can provide. I am hoping that Norton will integrate APC into Norton products. :sneaky:
