My suggestion is to add a second on-demand scanner like Malwarebytes free and a second browser in case you have a problem with Opera.

Hello Adam221. Thank you for deciding to join a wonderful community, and for sharing your configuration.
I also have an XP system which I have not completely let go of. As long as you keep XP there are additions which can help you to preserve and protect your system. A free program called Time Freeze was developed by a company called Toolwiz. It renders all changes made to your system temporary.

After joining Malware Tips, I learned about another system from one of our helpful staff members that was absolutely free, and that I could try without giving up Windows XP. It's called linux lubuntu. (Thanks @BoraMurdar !)
It works very well for me, and I use it now a great deal of the time!:)
