Thought I'd share a little tip--a couple of months ago, the test build of 320 was available for Wilders people to try out. On here: scan time went from around 45-50 sec to about 35 sec. When the release build of 322 was available earlier today, my scan time remained at a similar 44 sec. I commented on it and received a reply from the engineer to switch to Compatible Disk Access in Advanced settings. Then, the scan time decreased to 28 sec. Give it a try if applicable and see if it decreases your scan time.

CHANGED: Cloud components = New backend stuff, nothing should be changed and/or behave different on user end.

My scan time has always been minutes, not seconds. 2mns plus before your suggested tweak, 1mns plus after. (y)

What is HitmanPro using for detection? I remember some time ago it used Bitdefender, Kaspersky... What about now?

It's been hard to find a straight answer to that question, believe it or not. Most "recent" info I could find from a developer (2015).

Latest info suggests four engines, incl. its own, Kaspersky, Sophos and BitDefender, plus some cloud components. However, there has been very little communication from SurfRight lately so I'm not sure if anything has changed "under the hood." I sometimes wonder if SurfRight is going to be around as a separate brand in the future. Also, not sure if K is still part of the roster.

Only Bitdefender and Sophos engine as far as I know. Kaspersky was used many years ago.
