Hello,

Firstly, I need to notify you that I did not run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool, because when I downloaded it, Internet Explorer said: FRST64.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer.

Now onto the reason as to why I am starting this thread.

A strange window opened on my computer, notifying me that Flash Player needed an update. I immediately knew this was an attempt to fool me and I closed the window and searched on here for a solution. I followed the steps listed on http://malwaretips.com/blogs/please-install-flash-player-update-virus/

I then restarted my computer after the following steps and I got another webpage opening, this time it wasn't about Flash Player, but about Java Runtime and I've uploaded a screenshot. I ran all the steps listed on http://malwaretips.com/blogs/java-software-critical-update-removal/ and it still came so I need help on resolving this.

Thank you.

Running it on another one may cause damage and render the system unstable.

Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop:

Both files, FRST and fixlist.txt have to be in the same location or the fix will not work!

  • Right-click on
    FRST.gif
    icon and select
    RunAsAdmin.jpg
Run as Administrator to start the tool.
(XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
  • Press the Fix button just once and wait.
  • If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  • When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop, called Fixlog.txt.

Please attach it to your reply.

Hello
I am currently writing from my android tablet, as I now cannot connect to the internet, after running the instructions that you provided me with.

When I go onto the internet, it says I'm not connected to a network, so I clicked fix connection problems and it says 'there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter' and when I click try these repairs as an administrator, it says 'the wired adapter is experiencing problems, and I clicked next and it said the same thkng about the driver for the local area connection.

Still not working.

What do you suggest next? System Restore, Repair Install?

No problem.

Sorry, my bad, we need to use recovery mode in order to fix your internet.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool x86 along with attached Fixlist.txt and save them to a flash drive.
  • Plug the flashdrive into the infected PC.
  • Restart your computer and tap F8 to bring up the Advanced Menu, then click Repair your computer
  • Follow the prompt to enter keyboard input method, and then the prompt to enter a password. If the machine does not have a password, simply click Enter.
In the next menu, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to highlight Command Prompt and press Enter.
  • In the command window type in notepad and press Enter.
  • When notepad opens, click File and select Open.
  • Select "Computer" and find your flash drive letter and close the notepad.
  • In the command window type e:\frst.exe and press Enter.
Note: Replace letter e with the drive letter of your flash drive.
  • The tool will start to run. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Fix button.

It will make a log (Fixlog.txt) on the flash drive. Please attach it to your reply.

Reboot, and tell me is internet now working?
