Hey guys, I see a lot of good quality discussion goes around here about what anti-virus is best for what type of protection! Lets create a list, and rank the famous antivirus based on their efficiency, we all can post our personal lists and then can assemble all and generate a compiled one :)

Free:
1. Avast! Free
2. Qihoo Total Security
3. Windows Defender/MSE (For experienced users)
4. Tiranium

Paid:
1. ESET
2. Emsisoft
3. Webroot
4. Norton
5. Avast!

I won't ever reccommend McAfee, Bitdefender, or AVG. Avira is okay but I didn't like it too much. I've used all antivirus on this list. Kaspersky was excellent but degraded performance on my computer.
