In comparison my config takes 10-40mb
And default settings in my device takes 122- 300mb ram

In the VM it uses 200mb of RAM, both in default config.
WD (what I use currently) went back to normal (150mb) after some days of usage.

I thought this was SEP for a moment sorry .

But seriously MacAfee is dam heavy Even with modules removed.

Maybe it feels good having a badass machine with much ram.
Moved the whole program to ram XD.

Try out Chiri.Mi like settings .
If I'm not worng with those settings every unknown file/malware will be virtualized in the container.

changing rule assignment to security isolates all unknown files, changing the dynamic application containment rules to "block" blocks console programs because they call conhost.exe.

ATP on default settings also blocks ransominator since it calls certutil

EDIT: that config contains the original ransominator (calls local 7z copy) but doesn't stops it, will do further tests
