Ho ho ho! Happy holidays!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Opera’s new Lucid Mode feature is here to make it even better!
We are happy to introduce Lucid Mode feature* in the Opera desktop browser. It is a video sharpening feature that helps make your streaming experience more enjoyable. It’s like having a crystal clear window into your favorite shows and movies. No more pixelated faces or blurry images!
If you’re sick of watching VHS-quality Christmas movies, why not give yourself the gift of a better streaming experience this holiday season? With Lucid Mode, you can relive your favorite moments from the past without any of the embarrassment or frustration that poor quality might bring.
The feature is available for all videos on, for example, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and can be enabled with a single click of the magical floating button! When activated, Lucid Mode adds a sparkle of sharpness and clarity to your content, allowing you to enjoy it in comfort and relaxation. It’s also available for images and can be activated in the Easy Setup. Don’t let the hassle and stress of poor quality get in the way of your viewing experience.
This holiday season, let Opera help you spread some festive cheer! Activate Lucid Mode in the browser and transform your fuzzy holiday classics into crisp, clear content that the whole family can enjoy. You’ve taken care of the rest, so let our new feature give your loved ones a special treat – a sparkling new take on those treasured old classics!
Just in time for the holidays, Lucid Mode is only the first in a slew of planned upgrades that will redefine the Opera browser in the coming year. Stay tuned – and in better quality than ever!
Enjoy your sweet holiday time with Lucid Mode!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
*Lucid Mode is a CSS sharpening filter applied to videos and / or images. It applies SVG filters to video and image elements on webpages.
You can turn on Lucid Mode in the usual places: Easy Setup and opera://settings. You will be also able to change this setting in-context while watching a video. For that purpose we introduced a button next to the video pop-out button which serves to change the global Lucid Mode for Videos setting.
Changing the setting should apply / un-apply the settings immediately on all open pages, so that it is easy to compare having it on or off. For technical description, see See <filter> - SVG: Scalable Vector Graphics | MDN.
