When I use my Opera browser it wants to activate my VLC Player when I open video content. I want it to utilize Windows Media Player. How can I remedy this?

Note: Firefox and Chrome are, and have been, utilizing Media Player when I surf.

First question: Why do you want to use WMP and not VLC? VLC supports on average more types.
See, it's really easy on Kubuntu since KMclient.exec picks the system default. :p

Is this what you mean?

Go to:
http://www.opera.com/docs/plugins/

Assuming you have WMP installed and enabled:
http://www.opera.com/docs/plugins/installation/#wmp

Download the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin and install.

I have Windows Media Player 11. I am very happy with it.

I have VLC Media Player and DivX Media Player. I only prefer to use them when they are required at fastpasstv.eu. I want Windows Media Player to fulfill all other video requirements as it does when I am surfing with Chrome and Firefox.

The problem that I am having is that when I am surfing with Opera and I click to open video content, VLC Player steps in. I want WMP to step in instead, as it does with Chrome and Firefox for the exact same video.

Ok. I just now viewed the last part of your post, stormgtr. I think that is what I need to study.

Thanks. I fixed it. For some reason WMP was unchecked on Program Access and Defaults. I rechecked it and all is well.

Let's face it. I am a lunatic who surfs with 4 different browsers. Yikes.
