Haven't really given much thought to Panda in quite a while, so a very quick test on scriptors used previously as well as a proof of concept one that is starting to become popular in the Corporate space. Please note that for this one I've included an unnecessary Command box for no other reason than chuckles.

Bitdefender free is not tested much.
Can you do a test of Bd free v/s malware & this script test?

Panda BB is weak. Lets see how it fared.
Is this Panda cloud free tested?
Well downloading the test now......... & will see

UPDATE - Watched the test.
System was corrupted & couldn't boot.

Guess without HIPS/sandbox like technology almost all AVs will fail against these malware.

Moose- I did an Avira test against some easy vbs scripts, which can be found here:



YN- You are absolutely correct that most AV's will fail against zero-day malware (I would say all, but I haven't tested all). I did, however, test against ESET and Avast, both of which I'll release as soon as I pick out the music (and in this test it was the Paid Panda pro).

As to the malware itself- these Takedown trojans are currently a really, really serious concern in Industry, and is part of why Symantec stated a few months ago that the traditional AV is dead.
