Several days ago, I accidentally downloaded a virus onto my laptop and it completely prevented me from even logging onto my laptop account. But after I used the malwarebytes threat scan, it cleared out a majority of the virus cause I can now log back into my account and go on the internet.

Although a majority of the virus seems to have disappeared, I am still having problems on my laptop!

These problems occur from time to time in which I have no problem one moment, but then I have problems later on?

1) From time to time I keep getting random pop up tabs that never occurred before.
2) At one moment my pictures are not corrupted and I can access them but then in another moment they're suddenly un-accessible? Then in a couple minutes they're accessible again?
3) I also cannot download extensions like Adblock onto my browser? (I deleted it previously by mistake). It continues to state there is a problem with unzipping the extensions?

Any solutions?

My own attempts to fix the problem:
I have run Malwarebytes Threat Scan several times but it seems to have found nothing?

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Good afternoon,
Thank you so much for responding and I apologize for my late reply (I was on vacation over the weekend with no internet connection whatsoever).

I just wanted to inform you that I think I was able to resolve the problems (There hasn't been any more problems so far for at least 3 days now) after doing a malewarebytes scan on my laptop at least 7 times on each of my laptop's accounts individually!

The problems also ceased once I did at least 2-3 scans on my flash drive, disk drive, and my other external drives.

Thank you so much for taking time to respond to my dilemma! I will be sure to contact this forum once again if the problems arise once more. Thank you!
