Hi,

I'm Barb and I'm so glad to have found this site. I was searching online about computer slowdown after downloading Windows updates when I found Malewaretips.com. I plan on learning as much as I can because my computer knowledge is pretty basic.

Thanks for having a place where people can get help.

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Sorry for the late reply - had company over. I got my friend to check out my computer and he was able to fix it. He said I had too many programs running at start up which slowed down my computer. He closed the programs and it seems to have fixed the slow down. I did shut down Windows Auto updates. Thanks for your help and I will let others know about this site.
