Romanian crooks once again take center stage after a police operation coordinated by Europol and Eurojust has resulted in the apprehension of 10 individuals suspected of being involved in illegal online purchases and payment card fraud.
This recent raid, which took place on 6-7 July, was a result of a three-year investigation led by French authorities into the activities of an organization that committed crimes in several European countries, causing hundreds of thousands of euros in damages.
A number of 60 police officers have searched 10 residences where they’ve found cash, mobile phones, computers and even luxury cars, including a Lamborghini and a Mercedes.
Europol has been involved in this investigation from the early stages, offering technical assistance and coordinating the actions by deploying a mobile office.
