Hello,
I'm using Adguard on my Macbook Air, but since the "Sequoia" upgrade there are somme issues and I'm wondering to switch for "1Blocker" because I'm not very enthusiastic about having to make settings changes manually :(
I need your advices, is it an effective adblocker ?

Below the Adguard support answer:
"Hello,
Thank you for contacting AdGuard Support and for your patience!

Apple has finally released macOS Sequoia, an update that many innovation enthusiasts have been waiting for. However, some issues have been affecting AdGuard users:

Private Relay prevents Safari filtering: A bug with which Apple's Private Relay feature disrupts AdGuard filtering on Safari. Issue details.
The path to network extension permissions has been changed: To resolve issues with AdGuard, users must now manually configure the settings by navigating to Login Items & Extensions, scrolling to the end, clicking the "i" icon next to AdGuard, and turning on the switch. More information.
AdGuard requires Network permissions: This is essential for filtering other browsers on macOS Sequoia.

We look forward to your response and will be happy to assist you further.
We remain at your disposal and wish you a great day!
Kind regards,
AdGuard Support 💚"

Hi,
I was using 1Blocker for quite some time and can confirm that it is effective however I have experienced some slowdowns in websites loading times.
Not sure if anything have changed since and if new macOS update is not causing the same issues with 1Blocker as it does with AdGuard.
To be honest I have ditched any adblockers on macOS since DNS filtering works well for me.

Thanks @enaph
Is the MacOS filtering enough to block publicities and cookies?

In my case Control D blocks almost all ads (99% I would say) but not all ads are coming from third-party domains (DNS level ad blocking can not filter 1st party domain ads) and depending on the aggressiveness level of blocking some cookies are blocked and some not.
Also cosmetic filtering is not available.
