2012 Consumer Security Products Performance Benchmarks [Edition 3]

Executive Summary

PassMark Software® conducted objective performance testing on thirteen (13) Internet Security software
products, seventeen (17) Antivirus software products, and five (5) Total Security software products on Windows
7 Ultimate Edition (64-bit) SP1 between April 2011 and January 2012. This report presents our results and
findings as a result of performance benchmark testing conducted for these consumer security products.

Changes in the 3rd edition, according to the Revision History:

• Added results for 4 additional Free Antivirus products to the antivirus category.
• Added results for 5 products in the Total Security category.
• Replaced all Registry Key Count results using RegistryCount.exe to results taken using OSForensics.

Very interesting. According to this, Webroot SecureAnywhere has a very small installation size, very low Memory Usage during System Idle and a very low Registry Key count!

Definitely when I tested Norton AV and NIS my system came light, execution were on time and usage does fine enough.
