WikiLeaks has just published a new set of classified documents linked to another CIA project, dubbed 'Imperial,' which reveals details of at least three CIA-developed hacking tools and implants designed to target computers running Apple Mac OS X and different flavours of Linux operating systems.

If you are a regular reader of THN, you must be aware that this latest revelation by the whistleblower organisation is the part of an ongoing CIA-Vault 7 leaks, marking it as the 18th batch in the series.

If you are unaware of the Vault 7 leaks, you can head on to the second of this article for having a brief look on all the leaks at once.

Achilles — Tool to Backdoor Mac OS X Disk Images

Dubbed Achilles, the hacking tool allows CIA operators to combine malicious Trojan applications with a legitimate Mac OS app into a disk image installer (.DMG) file.

No wonder nobody trusts them , with all these sneaky gizmos they've made:eek:
I suppose it's OK if used on specific targets like suspected terrorists, etc. But it's bad if they're using all this stuff to spy on the ordinary Joe Bloggs in the street;)

I think it's safe to say the CIA and their contractors are using it against a wide range of targets, not just foreign. It's pretty well accepted they've stepped over their mandate and not just speaking about the Church Hearings. Gary Webb found that out pretty quickly. Some say Michael Hastings probably did, as the embedded system in his car that accelerated out of control was one of the embedded systems listed as compromised by the CIA in their vehicle assassination statements. JFK's goal of splintering the CIA into a thousand pieces and throwing it into the wind clearly failed. Then there is Gov. Venturas statement the CIA tried to wrangle him in the basement of the MN capitol building to 'play ball' with them..
