A new survey shows most Android users did not give Facebook permission to collect their call and text data.

Facebook is in hot water as more users find out how much of their personal data the social media giant has collected. In a new study by anonymous social app Blind, 89% of 1,300 Android users claim they did not give Facebook permission to gather their call and text history.
Following news of the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Android users began investigating the extent of Facebook's data collection. They learned the company had been recording their call history records and SMS data, which the majority of them did not consent to. More than 30% of 2,600 users surveyed in March say they plan to delete their Facebook account, Blind reports.

I locked down the Facebook Messenger application therefore despite its permissions, it wasn't able to access my text or call data, or anything alike. I did not even allow the application to access my local photos. None of it.

It worked wonders as well; I was able to use Facebook Messenger for many months and after doing the data take-out it had absolutely nothing like text or call data, sadly this isn't the same for a majority of others who used Facebook applications on their mobile device though... The take-out data still had the Facebook Messenger chats of course, that's obvious, but other sensitive data personal to myself from my phone? Nope.

In fact, strangely enough, Facebook didn't even have my real name despite it being on my profile and thought my location was from a Facebook page with millions of followers. How can my location be a Facebook page? Nor do I even own the page...

Facebook are sleazy and snakes. Tread carefully.
