The AV Oxymorons
In the world of technology
Programmers are evolving
Some make viruses
Which are more accurately called malwares
And others choose to combat them
Thus the existence of antiviruses
But others make malwares
Just to support their antivirus
And keep it going on to business
Many are paid
Many are free
Almost all promise to be light
But instead put your computing performance down
Most have identity shields
Yet still many send out
Your personal data without your explicit knowledge
Their websites have beautiful faces
Of ladies from their Support Team
But when you contact them
There are so much delays
Some even do not answer back
They promise to keep out 0-day attacks
But test them a little
And you make your system vulnerable
To damage yet to be seen
They keep changing their GUI
But sometimes failed to improve their products
Instead they rely heavily
On marketing skills
And paying 'Independent Labs'
Some let their signatures and engines be used
By others who could not make their own
Yet some manage to improve upon them
And even beat the original
They promise to keep out hackers from you
But how could I believe them
If their products are very vulnerable
To patching and cracking
So many of the paid AVs
Could forever be used freely
Some choose their products to be silent
On performing its protection tasks
Others are too noisy and obtrusive
Few quarantine files without your knowledge
Thinking they are infallible
But later make your system corrupt
Others focus on security
While others are heavy
Because they are bloatwares
With functions not related to protection
They promise fast detection and repair
But full scans take forever
And hog down your HDD
CPU and memory to waste
Some have powerful heuristics
To the extent of sandboxing
Not just unknown suspicious files
But also legit Windows System files
These observations are just a few
From what you could see
From the products that
Promise you security
These things are living
And evolving oxymorons
Yet we still fancy them
And wait on how they evolve
Yearly on their oxymoron traits
But I choose still to keep them
For at least they do something
About fighting malwares
To a little extent
Yes to a little
