Advanced Security Ad-aware & WhenU

Back in the early 2000's there was a scandal regarding Ad-aware delisting WhenU. I was able to track it for some years, then all mention seems to have disappeared from Google. Anyone know the ending to this story? Did Ad-aware finally sever ties with WhenU, or are they still cozy?

According to Wikipedia, it was resolved a month later, March 2005.

Lavasoft's AdAware and Computer Associates' PestPatrol briefly de-listed WhenU as an adware target in February 2005. Why these two programs stopped detecting WhenU while continuing to target other similar adware programs has led to some speculation of their reasoning. WhenU was added back to Lavasoft's detection list a month later.

WhenU cleaned up a lot and most security software no longer detects it because the user has to agree to install it and it can be easy removed by running its uninstaller in control panel. I believe the owners of WhenU are the ones that acquired Lavasoft. Remember back to Lavasoft was acquired by an adware company?

So does this mean that AdAware currently detects the various incarnations of WhenU?
