1. Put your phone or tablet device in safe mode. This prevents any third-party applications to operate, including any malware. On many devices you can press the power button to power off options, then press and hold Power off to bring up the option to restart in safe mode.
If this does not work for your device, then you should type on Google "how to put [model name] in safe mode" and follow the instructions. In safe mode you will see ' safe mode ' at the bottom left of the screen.
2. Open the settings menu and choose Apps/application management, and then make sure you are viewing the downloaded apps. If you do not know the name of the virus that is thought to have infected your Android phone or tablet, scroll through the list and look for any suspicious or item that you know is not installed or should not be running on the device.
3. Tap the app to open the information page for the App, and then click Uninstall. In most cases, this is all you need to do to remove the virus, but occasionally you might find the Uninstall button greyed out (i.e. it doesn't work if you click on it). This is because the virus has become a "device administrator".
4. Exit the application menu and tap Settings, then security and finally device administrators. Here you will find a list of all the apps on your phone or tablet with Administrator status. Simply clear the check box for the application you want to remove, and then tap turn off on the next screen. Now you should be able to return to the applications menu and remove the application.
5. With the virus now eradicated, all you have to do is restart the device to remove safe mode. Now that the device is working properly, this is a good time to back up your device and install an antivirus application Android to protect you from any future viruses that might infect your phone.
