One of the most anticipated moments of the Google I/O 2016 was definitely the Android N preview. The first early preview of the Android N was available since March this year, while the second was released in the following month. Now, Google has also released the Android N Developer Preview 3 as beta.

Android N focuses on three key aspects, performance, security and productivity. During the Google I/O event, the company announced that it introduced the support for Vulkan, a new API that would allow developers to create games with enhanced graphics by providing them with direct control over the GPU.

Vulkan is a 3D graphics and computer API with low overhead, available on multiple platforms. It allows developers to add advanced graphics, like realistic motion blur, real-time water effects and reflections, without overcharging hardware components.

Vulkan is useful not only with playing games, but it also allows devices to install applications faster, while using 50% less space.

Android N comes with security improvements
The latest version in the Android OS will come with some new and improved security features, especially when it comes to installing updates. When available, updates will be automatically downloaded to the smartphone and applied the next time it’s powered on. The user no longer has to deal with updates or go through installation procedures.

Furthermore, Android N comes with fine-based encryption for various files saved on the device. In addition, codes and file extractors were split into individual protected processes so that the whole device would have better protection.
