Google's decision to ban Anonymous-related accounts from its new Google+ service was the last drop for the hacktivists who decided to create their own social network.

One account called "Your Anon News" was apparently the most popular one, but others associated with the group were silenced as well.

"This is the sad fact of what happens across the internet when you walk to a different beat of the drum. We’ve all heard the stories of activists being banned from FaceBook, Twitter, YouTube, and governments blocking their people from these sites as well through organized black outs.

"That day has came to an end. Not only did a few people organized an Operation ageist [.sic] Google+, but we have started to build our own Social Network,
" the group wrote in a blog post.

The name for the planned network is AnonPlus. The domain has already been registered and a forum was set up to coordinate and discuss various aspects of the project.

That was... unexpected (to say the least) :p
They are following the latest trends.. Wonder if they will have a video call feature! :p
I guess this is the only option for them,I'm do think that they won't actually create this social network but who knows....

This will overtake Facebook in a matter of hours!

Anonymous has many underground fans..but let's not over estimate them......if they really start this project they won't get more that 2.000 members(my bet)

Anonymous are hactivists who fight for freedom, which gives them a large number of supporters, so I wouldn't bet on so few.

I somehow doubt they would be organized enough to manage and complete this project. Let's face it, they can plan out raids on already existing sites like 4chan, but not create the site themselves, too much work for too little people interested (my guess).

.Also the entire project will need to have private finances since they can't rely on advertise to maintain it.

If you watch The Social Network, you can see how tough it is to build and maintain one.

Wonder if their building social network was their original idea without any copy from other major social network site.

I doubt they can come up with something that Facebook or Google+ didn't ..... :)
In my opinion , this guys are like 'little girls' ..They want to be in the center of attention.... so when Google+ denied them the right to join their social network .. A girl ,oopss!..sorry, a 'hacker' thought ...Why not make our own social network..
Of course they don't have the know-how, the people or the money to build a successful and long term social network..but hey.... if that will get them some attention .. why not:p

They just crave attention really, so they'll say loads of big stuff like this to get attention, then who knows if they'll actually do it.

Anonymous hackers hacked by young Turks

AnonPlus, the social network set up by anarcho-hacktivista collective Anonymous, has itself been hacked.

Affiliates of the group began to set up the site after profiles established by its members on Google+ were turfed out last week. Days later the pre-beta site was defaced by rival hackers in Turkey, who replaced the site's front page with the image of a dog wearing a suit, a joke version of the standard Anonymous logo, together with a message (below) mocking the group in Turkish and English.

Code:
We Are TURKIYE We Are AKINCILAR
This logo suits you more ... How dare you rise against to the World ... Do you really think that you are Ottoman Empire? We thought you before that you cannot challenge with the world and we teach you cannot be social Now all of you go to your doghouse ...
