Hello Pals,
Considering Esset, Kaspersky, Avast and Bitdefender, may I get your latest opinions how antiviruses rate on PCs running Windows 7 and 8 in terms of security, resources utilization, real-time detection, speed, no false alerts and any other useful feature?

So why do you have 3 Main browsers? Clearly you use one more than the other.... Also add "Adblock Plus" to the addons.

@Nedim
Correct me if I wrong, Smadav is an AV from Indonesia, it's not quite good and have quite lot bunch of FP's which make the users paranoid :D

@OP
Since your PC is being shared, I don't know if you have the admin privelege right or not, but perhaps you can add MBAM or hitman pro (or both) for AV on demand scanner purpose, yes like Fantasy said, you can also add Add block for preventing malware infection through malicious ads.
Anyway thanks for sharing your config Awesomepal, and welcome to MT :)

ESET works well on Windows 8. I like ESET & Kaspersky for Windows 7.Kaspersky is a bit heavier depending on your PC's specs.Best advice is to try them on your systems and see which works best for you.Thanks for sharing your config :)

ESET & Kaspersky are very good security suite.

Features: They both have decent & similar features.
Protection: In terms of Protection, KIS is better than ESET or almost similar.
Resource: KIS is heavier & ESET is know for it Lightness.
Speed: ESET Scan speed is very fast than kaspersky.
False Detection Rate: ESET has very less false detection rate

Try both of them & decide.
I am better with ESET Smart Security 7

If you want something free and trouble free, I suggest you to try Avira free. If you want something paid, you can try ESET antivirus or internet security, it's light and powerful. Emsisoft antimalware is also very good, better default protection than Eset's, but not that light on the system. Kaspersky is also a very good solution but not of the lightest.
Avast free: good protection, may cause problems as it has bugs at the time.
Comodo IS (free): very comprehensive protection but may get you into trouble by messing up with bening files, and it's kind of buggy too.
