AppGuard & NVT ERP

Getting back to @FrankN209's original question: Out of the two, I would recommend starting with ERP, and learning how it works, and the principles on which it is based. Once you get that under your belt, you can go on to Appguard, if you feel that your security needs are not yet satisfied.

Whatever one uses, the value that the user gets out of the soft is directly proportional to their effort to learn the soft.

Knowledge serves a user much better than any software can.

Thanks for all these replies. Where would be a good place to read up on AppGuard, to learn the settings, more advanced settings? I've been reading the help section on the program itself.

If you are a security enthusiast looking to learn, then just ask questions. There are a number of members here familiar with SRP and AppGuard. SRP is learned by doing. How to craft policies is specific to your particular needs, wants and system. Protection strategies using SRP can vary. SRP provides a lot of flexibility.

This is not difficult.

It's important when using Appguard to understand the pecking order. The guarded apps list is stronger than the user space list. So, for instance, if you included powershell in user space, and you also have it on the guarded apps list (it is there by default), then it will not be blocked, it will run guarded. If you want to block it, you need to untick it in the guarded apps list.
