Anything less than 10 years of OS updates is a rip-off. Lose or damage the phone? The homeowner's insurance pays for it. And with iPhones the trade-in values are generous compared to Android. If I wanted the 16e, I would pay only 275 Euros for it and get 2 years of mobile service for only 199 Euros. Android is a cesspool because Google cannot get the Android app ecosystem under control. The OEM phone manufacturers have never really cooperated with Google on security except for a few. Instead, the OEMs have focused on pure profit - new model, new 1,100 Euro price or higher. Just keep manufacturing new models. Don't worry about security. Android phones account for 80+% of mobile hacks. Over the long term, Apple still offers overall better value than Android. It comes down to Euros and what you get for what you pay. Want low-cost, cheap then Android is the answer. But not a 600+ Euro Android. That's a waste of money unless you have money to waste and just don't care. One can always buy the $1,999 Purism Liberty Linux phone. https://shop.puri.sm/shop/liberty-phone/ Good luck with that.
