And according to Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky, Apple is 10 years behind Microsoft in terms of security.
This may come as a jolt to many Mac users who look upon Windows as an inferior product. ”Welcome to Microsoft’s world”, says Eugene. “The recent Flashback/Flashfake malware outbreak targeting Apple’s Mac computers is likely to be just the start of a new wave of attacks aimed at the system”.

With all the malware that has recently hit Apple is alot. They have not expected to see it hit Mac OS and they have not been prepared for it, while on the other hand Microsoft has.

And even more important, apple users are not used to dealing with security issues.

Exactly, and when they do, they won't have a clue how to get rid of them!

Apple users are generally new computer users, so they would probably hire a $500 computer helper to help them get rid of a virus we could get rid of in minutes! :D

Also when Apple Computers have a problem the only solution was to gave it from support center and if fails then they would bought again another computer.

Apple computers (and products) are mostly expensive toys for rich-i-like-to-show-off users, people who don't have a clue of what is computer security.
last week my neighbor had a problem with his apple computer, and asked me if i can fix it, i answered "sorry im a PC specialist, why did you buy a product with few support?" he answered because the Mac had an attractive appearance and the seller said it is better than a PC... i laughed...

Similar to a friend I know he had a Mac for 6 months then after that he found that there are so many features that he missed with Windows and decided to sell his Mac and get a PC. The people over at Apple try and con you into buying a product that they think is top notch which at times it isn't.

They mostly mean PC as in Windows, (remember the PC vs Mac Ads?)

PC viruses are ones programmed to affect Windows, unless it's cross-platform then you're screwed. I think Snow Leopard comes with Java-bundled. Not sure about Lion though.

Now that effect for advertising would not work caused news everywhere showed that Macs have a in-the-wild list of viruses appearance. Likely before it was but remember technology came.

Plus you think every platform has to get some kind of virus even if it has to be something small like removing a shortcut. That is why it is vital to have an AV installed on both Mac and Windows.
