Serious Discussion Are 5G mobile networks more vulnerable to attacks than cable and regular wifi networks?

Hello all.
I recently got myself a 5G home network, because my home's coaxial cable is not functioning properly.
This is an example: 5G Home Internet | Verizon
The network is transmitting from cellular towers nearby wirelessly, essentially the same as the 5G or 4G mobile networks you get on your phone data plans.
I wonder if these types of networks are more or less secure compared to conventional networks?

Hello! Both 5G and conventional networks have their own security strengths and weaknesses. 5G has improved security protocols compared to older generations, but as a newer technology, it may still have undiscovered vulnerabilities. On the other hand, conventional networks are well understood, but they can also be vulnerable if not properly secured. It's crucial to ensure you have strong, unique passwords and keep your devices updated for any network type.

As long as you are using an encrypted connection (TCP/UDP via port 443) and preferably an encrypted DNS, you should be fine. Mobile data via eSIM is more secure than via SIM though.

SMS and calls are insecure since 1987, there is nothing strange about it, just that ISPs, banks and some services still use it, like for 2FA. 🤦‍♂️
Yep, you're right. A couple of my sites use SMS including my bank. Would I be better off in changing that 2FA to my email address, as that is an option I'm given?

Definitely, I have removed SMS as 2FA from all services, except FB or Phone, since it is not an option.
