What malware, if any, are known to, or has the capability to infect a hidden recovery-partition on a laptop??

Asking out of curiosity since a recovery using this partition is like the last resort to fight off an infection. How sure can one be that it´s clean??

Well, i thought it might be some malwares with that capability since i found an old post on another forum where someone stated that the recoverypartition on 2 different PC´s had became infected with W32.Virut (unknown extention) and unknown OS.
True or false, i don´t know but i´m keen to see if there are any malwares today that has this capability.
Would be interesting to know which ones that can do it!

Have been searching the net but can´t seem to find any that is said to do it.

possible but not plausible, i think that malware-writers rather target the bios or MBR than the recovery partition, since you will always pass by these two items when you install a new OS.

I haven't see or heard for this type of malware. I think this is hard to do, because this type of partition is locked out, and cannot be accessed easily. At the other side, I do not see the benefit of doing this.
W32.Virut is file infector used to infect .exe, .scr and sometimes .html files. It doesn't have rootkit abilities...

His answer says: It is possible, but doesn't say exact name of virus. To be honest, I haven't heard of malware that only infects recovery partiton. There is a malware that creates its own partition as another layer of defense against removing...
