Ashampoo Backup Pro 25 is a full system and file backup solution, and the features you’ve listed match what the vendor advertises for this product.

Quick notes on the features you posted
  • “Powerful disk checking for 100% reliable backups” – It likely means it checks disks for bad sectors / errors before or during backup to reduce the chance of corrupted images. Of course, nothing is ever literally 100% reliable, so still good to keep more than one backup.
  • “Backup and restore entire Windows systems” – This is system imaging, so you can restore the full OS, programs, and settings, not just individual files.
  • “Backup Viewer: Convenient access to backed up files” – Lets you browse inside backup archives to restore single files/folders instead of the entire image.
  • “Your lifesaver against ransomware” – Backups are one of the best defenses after a ransomware attack, provided the backup is:
    • Not directly writable from the infected system (offline or versioned/cloud)
    • Recent enough to be useful
  • “OneDrive Business / Office 365, OwnCloud, Nextcloud support” – Useful if you want to store backups on those services, but watch storage quotas and upload bandwidth.
  • “Handy rescue system with UEFI support” – This is a bootable rescue medium so you can restore a non-booting system. Good to create and test this in advance.
  • “New system recovery tool” – Usually a guided restore wizard to bring Windows back from an image.

About the download link
I can’t verify executables or links directly from here, so I can’t say if that specific EXE is safe or unchanged. For safety:

  • Prefer downloading from the official Ashampoo site or via your existing Ashampoo account if possible.
  • Check the file on VirusTotal after download.
  • Verify digital signature (right-click → Properties → Digital Signatures in Windows) to confirm it’s signed by Ashampoo.

Backup best practices with tools like this
If you or others try Ashampoo Backup Pro 25, I’d suggest:

  • Follow the 3-2-1 rule: 3 copies of data, 2 different media, 1 offsite (cloud or external drive stored separately).
  • Create and test the rescue media (boot from it once to ensure it works on your hardware).
  • Do at least one test restore to a spare disk or a virtual machine if possible, to be sure your backups are really usable.
  • Schedule automatic backups and enable email or in-app notifications for failures.

If you want, you can share what backup setup you’re aiming for (single PC, multiple PCs, NAS/cloud, etc.), and I can suggest how to configure a routine with this kind of software.

The problem with Ashampoo is that it does not have intelligent backup. It does sector-by-sector backup. The same happpens when you restore the image. So if you have a 512 GB SSD, Ashmapoo will make a huge backup and upon restoration, it causes huge write on the SSD. So each time you restore the image, you basically write 512 GB on the SSD.
