What does user dependent mean? Avast passed AVG by a little bit. Bit defender seems to hae the best detection in this test.

User dependent means when the user has to make a decision on a detection, for example - using a behaviour blocker like Avasts bb in ask mode.

Yes, but if you hover the mouse over the chart you can see the full name of the products that were tested. The free version of Avast Free Antivirus vs the full paid security suite of AVG. I don't know if avg free has the same detection ratio as their full suite.

I see some products from China (Qihoo and Tencent) getting good scores, anyone tried them? Just curious.

So it seems there are biased results. They're not testing the products to the best of their abilities.

Great showing from ESET, joint first is impressive and reassuring.

Webroot.. again... a product with great promise, but detection needs to be a whole lot better before I trust it, sadly.

A bit surprised at Bullguard's result. Can't remember the last time I touched Bullguard. I will probably grab their latest copy and try it out. What troubles me is their prices but I shall check it out

Qihoo use BD & Avira engines in addition on their own one. that explains its good results, unfortunately there is no english version available.
