Interesting results by AVG, ESET, Norton and Kaspersky.

Didn't expect the removal scores of AVG and ESET to be honest.

Thanks for the info.

Oh um. Just replaced Avast Free with Panda Cloud Free (w/ URL Filtering) on one of the computers, might switch back.

avast free - slow down, 13 secs
avg free - slow down, 5 secs
panda cloud - slow down, 6 secs

I am still wondering what is the issue with avast slow down. it seems to be in general and not user specific.
With AVG on the other computer haven't really noticed any slow downs while with avast I had a bit before.
It is still a mid end laptop though. Next time I'm bringing a stopwatch...

The protection of Trend was good apart from that not the best. I like the look of how Bitdefender went. Seems like they must be doing something right.

BD indeed is improving throughout the last 2 years. Slowly but there are improvements.

Bullguard indeed had stable results apart from removals but then again no single solution is perfect.

It is good however to see positive results form not so popular vendors, however I am trying to figure it out one more thing: Webroot scores...

I also wonder how WSA scores so well, even our daily tests in the hub didn't reflect that...

may be issue is only on 64bit OS.....i don't feel any slowdown on 32bit OS....but in 64bit OS i feel little bit slow down on startup...

Edit: Qihoo 360 looks good on protection not so good on repair though....but how did AV-test got English version of Qihoo 360.....all i found was on Chinese.....

Actually What i have been noticing is av test has been giving avg a better reputation among the others from the past few years...i am suprised avg bypassed avira cozz avira signatures are far way better by avg's module :p

I dont notice slow down on any my systems running avast...nor with avira...

Any thoughts??

So that they can test Qihoo without the need spending time with translating...

If we are to talk about avast, it is pointless. Majority of avast 7 users have reported slowdown and even you linked at one stage a post of avast forums saying it was going to be fixed in 2 weeks or next version (can't remember and did not feel like going through a whishlist post which was what you linked).

As for Avira, when I ran Premium, I did not notice any slowdows, but you will need to consider that no product will act the same in different systems and architectures. We have to consider the systems hardware and software running etc.

I would also say it depends on the system your running it on. Last time I used Avast it was as fast as, so I don't know.

I wasnt talking about that..I was aiming to find a reason for avg bypassing avira in av-tests...cozz avira signatures beat avg's modules as according to me...
avg and avast...looking at them both i consider these 2 having same detection rates..i dont know about prevention abilities..
