@Earth: I agree with McLovin, their was little system slowdown on the VM after testing both Avast free and Avast IS(I tested it a couple weeks ago). I used it on my host machine for one day back in July and there was little slowdown. (though boot-time took considerably longer, which is one reason why I got rid of it and switched to Comodo).
