Very disappointed indeed. I thought the acquisition of AVG would boost its detection ratio by at least 10 % points

Hopefully the stable release will iron out some of these issues!

Don't understand why Avast cybercapture didn't stop that file nethost.exe that you downloaded from internet in the first part of the test. I mean all conditions for triggering cybercapture are there.

to be honest, CyberCapture never ever works for me

CyberCapture has a nice name, nothing more.
However, I'm really curious what we will see in the next Avast builds. This beta is just new GUI and nothing more, so don't expect anything special right now

Because CyberCapture only supports .exe files. Whatever, let's just say that CyberCapture needs big improvments, and that's all

Good results for avast! although is still in beta.

Let's take it that Avast new version is still on beta, but those features like CyberCapture or even improve DeepScreen must detect in any circumstances.

Avast Free's prime feature goes only to Hardening Mode.

I use Avast for its Hardenmode (agressive), not its detection rate via static, dynamic, or cyber-capture. Hardenmode has worked well for me over the years with very little false positives.
