Going to have to use a bootable anti-virus CD for this situation.

Some AV could cause trouble to execute the application due to malware activity that alters in order not to function properly and need more tools in order to remove most of the nasty things.

Always a handy idea to have a Bootable CD, so that you don't come into these situations.

Pretty funny that Avast charge you and they send you the repair disc. Better to find other alternatives. Mind you in the future they might change their ways. :)

As I posted on Matt's blog, avast is going to find it very difficult to compete with other AV companies like Kaspersky and Norton who offer free removal software using signatures and features from their paid products. This review really exposes avast's need to keep up with other companies. Although their free and paid products are great, they need to make a more well-rounded product.

Good review and as always I will continue to follow Matt.
