I recently posted about this on AVAST Forums and would appreciate any input from the people here, on our forum.

What are your thoughts about AVAST SafeZone and Pay Mode in AVAST Free Antivirus (latest version)?

To consider:
  • SafeZone is now free
  • SafeZone is based on Chromium builds
  • SafeZone includes AVAST built-in extensions
  • AVAST extensions can be enabled or disabled
  • Pay Mode protects your sensitive ID data from loggers

I am glad it is free now, but many complained because it installed by itself.
Chromium is secure as long as AVAST SafeZone uses an up-to date version.
The AVAST web-blocking has always been good, and with its anti-tracking that is also useful.
Some people may not like extensions so its good the user can choose whether to have them enabled or disabled.
Pay Mode again should be good as-long as it uses a secure version of Chromium and has its well-known sandbox/app-container.

Update:

The new Bank Mode is a lot better than Pay Mode. Reinstalled. :)

Bank Mode, formerly known as Pay Mode, provides a virtual desktop which acts as a safe and clean computer within your real computer. This protects against a potentially hijacked host or network and prevents keyloggers and network-based eavesdropping from capturing any of your data.
