So you mean that a execution test would have been better? Where he opened them instead of scanning the whole folder?

Yes, when you execute you see IDP from AVG and DeepScreen and so on in action. From signature you only detect what's in the signatures and you don't see the real protection level (look in the malware hub for real life exemples how when you execute you get a better score).

Good video,but boot protection interest me more than a detection rate, and i think is useful to see how antivirus works

Signature base detection make some av's look useless when in fact if said file is executed the out come most of the time is different.

I like the new nitro update on Avast free , I hardely notice it on my system ( the occasionaly upgrade offer popup I tke for granted ) it's good news the aquired AVG! I sure hope the will incorporate AVG'S idp into Avast , now that would be something amazing! thanks for sharing this video with us

I hope so, but if they will erase software like AVG tune up, it will be better. Some programs that avg sells are useless in my opinion

yes that is true : avg pctune is a bloated piece of junk , snakeoil. the only good part is program deactivator. lets hope that Avast will retire this from the portfolio.

In such way Avast have totally invest their innovation techniques that generally beat AVG.

Still for sure the changes for AVG will take a little time.
