I like Avira internet Security, but Avira Free would work well with Comodo Firewall.

I guess some users might find the Avira Notifier pop-up a bit annoying. It still pop-ups up from time to time (but not as often as it did in older versions). I would also like a "Continue anyway" link on Web Protection alert pages.

Well the notifier is like the one will popup through taskbar with promo, however you can dismissed the message but it can appear again.

I don't know why but something about Avira makes me turn away from using it.....

Well it could be two reasons why your attempted to use Avira but cannot:

1) Since they implemented the webguard with toolbar which can be optional to install however the toolbar is known to be an adware before.

2) Or notifier that can be annoyed for advertisement.
