Hello and welcome to the Avira Free test!
Avira is a German company, leader in free antivirus.
Acquired by NortonLifeLock in 2021, Avira continues its path with its own brand.
The software changes its appearance, and adopts a new interface.
Personally, I really don't like it...
Avira also has a behavioral module, which is new on this software, to block unknown threats.
On web threats, its web filter is still as efficient as ever.
On the threats of the pack, Avira detects a lot of them, but .... why doesn't it delete them after the analysis? Bug?
So I had to launch them manually... Avira proves once again its performance in blocking malware.
But, it is not perfect, and its Behavior Blocker lacks strength on JS / VBS and PowerShell type threats that install without warning...
Despite this, Avira is a recommendable antivirus!
RAM Usage : Average
Malware URL test : 10/10 (All detected)
Fake crack : 1/1 (Detected - Avira blocks executions, and out of videos, deletes the original dropper with its Behavior Blocker )
Malware Pack : Remaining 5 files out of 143.
Surprisingly, the antivirus scan does not delete any files!
But Avira makes up for it in execution by blocking them!
Only, JS/VBS/PowerShell threats manage to install themselves without any alert...
Resistance to script attacks: Yes but has a lot of trouble with JS/VBS/PowerShell threats
Result :
Avira: 0
NPE : 12
KVRT : 10
Recommand : Yes
System Clean : Not clean
