That guy should have taken the time to learn Avira's settings. In genral settings - threat catagoies he should have selected all, Infact all of Avira's settings should have been set to max that's how Avira ask AVC to test their product.

I understand the logic in testing Avira with default settings but I think he would have gotton a much better result had he made just a few changes in settings.

I hope that once Avira implements the cloud we start to see much better results from a default install.

Well for its fair result anything were on the default settings and since the implementation for Avira made it a bit lack thus the protection may differ than it was tweaked.

Definitely Cloud Feature could boost the protection as its an realtime bases by time to time.

I believe the reason for using default settings is because most of the users would not tweak the settings. That is why NIS is so popular.
