Well,

I have a very recent yahoo email account and new password for it. Only about 5 people know about this email address. Someone managed to access this account, not bringing up something from yahoo about a new IP address, and read my emails.

This person used a temporary email address to email one of my contacts with a threatening message.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas of how this account was accessed. Password is changed every 50 days and i use totally different passwords. Only my phone and computer access this email. Both have different log on passwords.

I think this might be a stalker and this needs to be resolved ASAP

One of my colleges received an email saying that "He is upset and its your fault."

Shortly after I spoke to her and I was upset about something.

There was another email sent with the title: "U DID IT"

I have now lost my job because of this.

If someone sent an email from a temporary account, not yours, then all they needed was the address of the receiver; that doesn't imply they had access to your account. I'm sorry you lost your job. I pray the real culprit is revealed soon.

Much appreciated,

But it was the timing and the wording corresponded with what I said.

Do you have 2-factor authentication on that account, and enabled SSL in the settings?

See if Yahoo's customer services can help you directly.

Not really understanding the whole situation but if someone knew that you had an issue with another employee they could have easily emailed her and claimed to be you using a disposable email.Employers take things like that very seriously

Hello,
Don't know how someone could get your password without using phishing but some one has tried to access in the past my personal gmail account by using brute force, he has failed but then I started search ways to secure my email. Apart from using strong passwords, I highly recommend that you start using Two-Step Authentication

These days I use Two-Step Authentication for all my accounts, I find this to be a very good layer of protection. :)

She was very upset. She also knows I never get angry and it is in third person so clearly not me. That being said it is a young person that sent these emails going by content.
