Absolutely boredom, honestly. F-Secure is working fine for me, but there's always the hunt for something "better", justified or not.
lol...I get it. I have F-Secure Total on 2 PCs. The "problem" with it is it's so dang quiet. Not a whole lot of clicking and ticking. No unneeded pop-ups, no misc notifications (turned off), it just quietly does its thing in the background. Bitdefender AV+ will and may have a bit more interaction up front, but it won't be like Kaspersky with all of its settings.
Do you have a beater notebook or PC you can trial AV's on, where you don't mind resetting Windows? It may possibly give you a truer reading of system impact, resources used along with Windows. Of opening and running files and apps that you normally use or are running in the background, like Dropbox, VLC Media Player, InfranView, Adobe Acrobat etc. Also with it using your full RAM and CPU cores. Then you would have the bonus fun of resetting up Windows again

And no, I'm not laughing at you, but just recalling doing all of this from my end
