In this case, Spamhaus's Domain Name System (DNS) servers were targeted - the infrastructure that joins domain names, such as bbc.co.uk, the website's numerical internet protocol address.

Mr Linford said the attack's power would be strong enough to take down government internet infrastructure.

"If you aimed this at Downing Street they would be down instantly," he said. "They would be completely off the internet."

He added: "These attacks are peaking at 300 gb/s (gigabits per second).

"Normally when there are attacks against major banks, we're talking about 50 gb/s."

Spamhaus vs Cyberbunker

This day I've experience like 15-20 seconds to load but likely felt to be slight affect due on world wide DDOS attacked.

But in most cases it depends on the responds from the server and internet speed.

Interesting, it was only about 6/7 hours ago I completely lost my connection to the Internet, Windows Troubleshooting said the DNS Server could not be reached, I haven't had this issue in quite a long time, I power reset my modem to see if that solved it and it didn't, It also wasn't my computers fault, Odd so I waited it out and about 30 minutes later the connection is back, I checked my ISPs Service Status page to see if there was any planned maintenance in my area and there wasn't.

If it wasn't related to this giant DDOS attack then it was one of those rare 'out of the blue' random and mysterious issues.

With my inept wireless ISP, we have UNINTENDED DENIAL OF SERVICE ATTACKS, quite frequently.
It is known as: doubling your number of clients without upgrading anything while pocketing the extra cash. You can do that when you own a micro-regional monopoly.

300 GB/S is a huge botnet,so these guys have some serious firepower.... Unless this is just a clever PR scheme, the law enforcement agencies should really get involved, so that they will set an example for future attacks.
CyberBunker is a good place too start as any others, as they have not denied being involved in this attack.
