Just because they may be digitally-signed programs does not exclude them from the PUP and Ad-aware category of malware. Sure a bunch of red flags might not have been set of by Hitman or MBAM, (perhaps they do not wish to alienate legitimate companies by detecting their products as malware) but more likely they (Bitdefender included in this) are focusing most of their efforts on malware of a higher severity.
