Hello,
I have no idea about the symptoms of Bootkits and BIOS rootkits, therefore I do not know if I have them or not, I have searched far and wide on the internet but the results that pop up does not answer my questions.
Does anyone here know about the symptoms about boot kits and BIOS rootkits?

Thanks.

Don't remember which episode but earlier this year on the Security Now podcast a listener asked "I'm buying a used computer off Ebay, and I'm worried about malware in the BIOS, is there anything I can do about it?"

The answer was no, there is currently no widely available credible BIOS scanner. But then they said that's because your chances of getting BIOS malware is effectively zero (paraphrasing).

I know that didn't really answer your question but I wrote anyways.

I think Avast paid products and ESET Internet Security have rootkit scanning when booting up.....other AVs too. Can check them out

they only scan the windows, not hardware.
I have little paranoia and already asked about hardware trojans so I found the McAfee or trend may block the attack(we need an Antivirus that can detect malware that spreads bad firmware or drivers. There are a few that can do that...Trend Micro, and take note Intel Security is now also McAfee also has always been focusing on low-level hardware security these are answers from an expert )so maybe the McAfee(because of intel) can detect or avoid it! But Avast can't for sure.
