Hey, has anyone else tried this:
http://bugbopper.com/BugBopper/

I use Wuzzup sometimes. It's the free on-demand scanner.

The nice thing is that every unknown file scanned is submitted for analysis. In addition each file is also scanned by multiple scanners.

These include AVG, CA, Eset, Sunbelt, ClamWin, Norman, QuickHeal, and VirusBuster. It then gives you the percentage of them that find the file dangerous (along with who detected it as what) and allows you make your own decision.

Be aware that Wuzzup can't remove files by itself, but I do find it useful for diagnostic purposes.

What do you guys think?

I read about it the other day when I saw it mentioned in your config. As a diagnostic tool, yes I guess it could be useful. The list of engines doesn't exactly blow me away though, I only see a few I'd really be interested in.

Yes, but don't forget that in addition to this any that aren't already detected by any of them will be analyzed by BugBopper. Thus the next time you scan they should be caught.

I really like the way it gives you the ability to quickly spot suspicious files so you can investigate them yourself.

I see that as the main advantage of the program.

You're right, if i were more into testing right now I'd definitely give it a look. I may look into it more later, I'm not sure if I need another on demand scanner right now but it's always interesting to hear about new ones.

I did a full executable scan and it found a few hundred unknown files. I have yet to rescan, though.

I've been trying Wuzzup. Pretty buggy...scrolling is jerky, logs/results are unorganized, and uploading/scanning statuses can't be trusted.

Still, it has potential. I suppose BugBopper is similar, except it can "bop" the malware?

Thanks, I now recommend using the scanner that is part of CCE. Please let me know if you find any problems with it.
